Inter-Library Loans
If the library doesn’t hold a copy of the book or journal article that you need, we may be able to order it in for you to borrow from another library (also known as an inter-library loan).
- UCSD students can request books and journal articles from the British Library. There is a charge of £3 per item. Items take on average a week to arrive. Search the British Library’s online catalogue.
- UCSD students who are studying on a programme awarded by the University of Plymouth can also request books and journal articles from the University of Plymouth’s Library. These are free of charge and take about a week to arrive. Search their online library catalogue (Primo).
Torbay Libraries offer a service for sourcing books from other authorities within the UK, as well as sourcing photocopied extracts from periodicals and serials. There is a £4 initial charge for inter-library loans, and a £2.20 charge per renewal. Click here for more information.
