The eLibrary
The eLibrary is the library’s Moodle page. It contains information on all aspects of the library, plus useful links and resources to help you with your studies. You will also find details of the library’s opening times, and links to our online search catalogue SDC Library Online.
Online resources
Within the ‘Access our eResources’ section of the eLibrary, you can access eBooks, copyright free media and online databases. The library subscribes to a large selection of databases spanning all relevant subject areas. The databases are arranged by subject area to make it easier to find the most relevant resource, however cross-subject databases can be found under the ‘General’ tab.
The University Centre South Devon online resource collection currently provides access to a wide variety of databases, including (but not limited to):
Oxford Academic Journals
This collection includes highly influential journals across six subject collections: Medicine, Life Sciences, Humanities, Social Sciences, Mathematics & Physical Sciences and Law.
SAGE Premier
SAGE Premier is the largest journals package offered by SAGE. It provides access to more than 1,000 international, peer-reviewed journals (over 1 million articles), including high-impact research titles published on behalf of over 500 scholarly and professional societies.
Wiley Online Library
Wiley Online Library delivers seamless integrated access to over four million articles from over 1,600 journals, laboratory protocols and databases – all hosted on the most innovative and robust platform on the scholarly publishing community.
MA Healthcare Complete Collection
MAH Complete is the premium health journal collection from the Mark Allen Group. MAH Complete covers the whole healthcare spectrum including nursing, midwifery, medicine, allied health professions and health economics.
Times Higher Education (THE) Digital Editions
THE provides analysis and insight on higher education. University Centre South Devon’s institutional subscription gives unlimited access to THE content online (including weekly digital editions of the magazine and digital access to all ranking supplements) as well as access to THE app for iOS, Android and Kindle Fire devices.
To register for the first time and read online:
- Visit the Times Higher Education website and click the person icon in the top right corner.
- Follow the instructions on screen. Please note: you must register using your South Devon College email address (i.e. @southdevon.ac.uk for staff, or @student.southdevon.ac.uk for students).
Access digital editions:
- Once logged in, click the “Professional” tab, then click “Digital Editions”.
- Then simply select the issue you want to view.
