Each year UPSU holds the prestigious SSTAR (Student and Staff, Teaching and Representation) Awards. These awards recognise the many excellent university staff members and dedicated students within the University of Plymouth network.
University Centre South Devon (UCSD) had a wonderful and successful evening. Out of the 16 categories for awards, we had 3 winners from our university for different categories.
Details of the winners are:
Thea Jones¬†– Overall Winner of the “One in a million support staff” award
Andrew Faulkner¬†– Winner of “Outstanding Personal Tutor” Partner Institutions Prize
Jayde Moran, 2nd Year FdSc Sport & Exercise Science student¬†– Winner of “Course Representative of the Year” Partner Institutions Prize
Launched in 2011, the awards, held this year on 2nd May 2019, have grown year on year and are now a hugely celebrated and special event for staff and students. They are an opportunity to say thank you to lecturers, support staff and students for all their hard work and support, whilst highlighting exactly what students think good teaching and support is.
The College are incredibly proud to have received the most partner institution awards at this event and were one out of two colleges to have received any partner institution awards this year. A huge congratulations to Thea, Andrew and Jayde. It’s great to see the recognition you all deserve for your hard work and commitment to South Devon College.
