The most outstanding individuals and institutions that the further education sector has to offer have been recognised in the shortlist for the 2021 Tes FE Awards.
It’s been revealed that South Devon College has been shortlisted for the Apprenticeship programme of the year award.
Tes head of FE Julia Belgutay said: “Further education providers have excelled in what has been a truly challenging year, and the amazing individuals, teams and institutions on our Tes FE Awards shortlist showcase that. Our judges were highly impressed with the calibre of entries and I want to congratulate everyone who has made the shortlist – it is a brilliant achievement”
Assistant Principal at South Devon College Maria Woodger is delighted that the College have been shortlisted and the hard work of the Health Professions and Nursing team have had such great recognition. She said: “Our apprentices benefit from a main programme of core competencies supplemented with a rich menu of specialist modules linking to their role within the trust or community. Innovation is at the heart of programme creation and working hand in hand with NHS and PVI partners enables a provision to be delivered which directly meets local skills gaps.
“This agility is recognised by our providers and enables them to use their Levy to support their workforce development needs. Our delivery models are employer driven and provide the opportunity for 20% OTJ to be taken by employees in line with rotas and shift patterns, something that has been welcomed during the very challenging pandemic in recent months. We have a workforce which is diverse to meet the breadth of need within the sector providing much needed confidence from employers in the offer we provide.”
After a very successful online awards ceremony last year, we are once again holding this year’s awards ceremony virtually. Winners will be announced on Friday 28 May 2021.
