Level 4 Introduction to Teaching (Micro Credit Module)

It is recommended that applicants have:
– Level 3 qualification in the subject area they wish to teach
– Level 2 (or equivalent) numeracy and literacy qualifications

Applicants must attend an informal interview prior to acceptance on the module.

Monday 09:00 – 11:30 – weekly sessions

50% – coursework

50% – practical

The programme is delivered over an 11-week period where there will be a mixture of scheduled lectures, tutorials, directed independent study and self-directed independent study to build 50 hours of study.

When not attending timetabled sessions, you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve reading journal articles and books, undertaking research in the library, preparing coursework assignments, and preparing for practical assessments where applicable. Your independent learning is supported by a range of excellent facilities, including the library, the South Devon University Centre Research Centre, and our course specific environments.

This module could support progression onto the following courses, however this will be dependent on individual circumstances:
– Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training
– Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training
– Level 5 Learning and Skills Teacher Apprenticeship
